What Does EMDR Therapy Look Like?

EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
EMDR supports the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR therapy is designed to process traumatic memories in the brain, so the person is informed by these memories but not controlled by them. Part of the therapy includes alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

EMDR Sessions with Dr.Golshani:
EMDR Sessions can range from 50-60 minutes, and can be incorporated into regular weekly session
We will discuss your individual needs and formulate a plan around how often we process with EMDR vs. more traditional therapy
If you have an individual therapist already and want to see Dr. Golshani only for EMDR, that is also an option that we can discuss
Beginning in January 2026, EMDR intensive sessions will also be offered to process over longer periods of time on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. These sessions typically last 3-6 hours and involve a screening process and preparation.
